"Difference between IELTS AND PTE"
In today's globalized world, English has become the dominant language of communication, commerce, and academia. As a result, English proficiency tests have gained immense importance, especially for those who aspire to study or work in English-speaking countries. The two most popular tests that are widely accepted worldwide are the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic). Though both tests evaluate an individual's English language proficiency, there are significant differences between the two. In this article, we will explore the key differences between IELTS and PTE.
Test Format
One of the major differences between IELTS and PTE is their test format. IELTS is a traditional paper-based test, while PTE is a computer-based test. In IELTS, the Listening, Reading, and Writing tests are completed in one sitting, while the Speaking test is conducted separately, face-to-face with an examiner. In PTE, all four tests (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) are taken on a computer in one sitting. The Speaking test is recorded and evaluated by a computer.
